Kazakhstan reports increase in its software power

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the value of IT services provided by Kazakhstanis (both individual specialists and companies) to foreign clients in 2024 reached $647 million, a 16.8% increase year-on-year.

The main sources of this revenue were program code development and testing ($365 million), software product and internet resource support ($145 million) and IT consulting ($57 million). Additionally, Kazakhstani game publishers earned $5.6 million from foreign customers.

By country, the largest buyers of Kazakhstani IT services last year were the U.S. ($199.8 million), Russia ($139 million), Cyprus ($52.1 million) and Ireland ($45.7 million).

As for the total value of IT services in Kazakhstan, it grew by 25.9% to $3.2 billion, including $873 million earned by code developers and testers, $273 million by server room operators and $296.4 million by support specialists. Kazakhstani game publishers earned $2.8 million domestically.
