Kazakh mixed martial artist Shavkat Rakhmonov shows signs of recovery and has returned to training after previously being spotted on crutches and wearing a knee brace, according to Bloody Elbow.

In late January, Nomad was spotted walking with crutches and wearing a knee brace, raising fans’ concerns at the time, followed by a statement from the athlete in February, in which he said he had suffered another knee injury and pledged to return stronger.

However, a video showing Rakhmonov in a contact training session posted on the official DAR Pro Team Instagram page appears to be positive news, hinting at an improvement in the athlete’s condition.

The last time Rakhmonov appeared in the Octagon was in December 2024, when he defeated Irish fighter Ian Garry by unanimous decision. Moreover, in early February 2026, the athlete was removed from the UFC welterweight rankings.

Separately, the martial artist’s ex-wife, Gulaiym Rakhmonova, was involved in a car accident in 2025 in which two passengers perished. In early May, she gave a candid interview, revealing details about their divorce.
