
The fourth installment in the Spider-Man saga starring Tom Holland continues to smash records, crossing the $2 billion mark at the global box office in less than three weeks.
According to Variety, the film has grossed $785.8 million in North America and another $1.236 billion internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $2.022 billion. «Spider-Man: Brand New Day» became only the eighth film in history to cross the $2 billion mark — and the second-fastest to do so. Only «Avengers: Endgame» reached the milestone faster, taking just 11 days.
The exclusive $2 billion club also includes «Avatar,» «Avatar: The Way of Water,» «Titanic,» «Star Wars: The Force Awakens» and «Avengers: Infinity War.» Holland’s previous solo outing, «Spider-Man: No Way Home,» fell just short of the milestone with a worldwide gross of around $1.9 billion.
The film is also making a strong bid to become the year’s biggest blockbuster. In its opening weekend, it grossed $927 million worldwide, delivering the second-biggest global debut in box-office history.
The superhero blockbuster is also dominating the box office in Kazakhstan. According to Freedom Ticketon, the film grossed 1.373 billion tenge ($2.9 million) in its opening weekend.
