Kazakhstani confectionery producer Lotte Rakhat plans to expand its export geography. The company is considering South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand as new export destinations, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture reported.

Currently, about 22% of the company’s products are sold outside Kazakhstan. Russia remains the largest foreign market, accounting for around 65% of the company’s export deliveries.

Lotte Rakhat’s products are also sold in Central Asian and South Caucasian countries, as well as China, Mongolia, Afghanistan and Germany. In 2026, the company began exporting its products to Latvia.

Lotte Rakhat operates two production facilities in Almaty and Shymkent. Their combined annual production capacity exceeds 100,000 tons. The company’s product range consists of more than 500 items, including chocolate, candies, cookies and waffles. The company produces more than 80 types of chocolate bars alone.

At the same time, the company produces the main components of chocolate domestically: cocoa mass, cocoa butter and cocoa powder. The production chain covers the entire process, from processing cocoa beans to producing finished products.

Alongside its export expansion, the company is investing in production capacity. Over the past several years, about 19.4 billion tenge (approx. $42 million) has been allocated to technological development and production expansion. Of this amount, more than 7.1 billion tenge was allocated to the facility in Shymkent. There, the company is developing new areas of production, including waffles and corn snacks.
