The government of Kazakhstan has approved the sale of 100% of the shares of Atyrau International Airport by its current owner, ATMA – Atyrau Airport and Transportation, to QazAir Investments, a company owned by investors from Qatar. The corresponding document has been officially published.

Currently, the airport is controlled by two equal owners: Turkish Mağdenli Yer Hizmetleri ve Taşıma A.Ş. and the Social-Entrepreneurship Corporation of Atyrau. The government’s edict applies to the shares of both owners, meaning that QazAir will obtain 100% of ATMA’s shares. No details on the sum of the deal or its timeline are available.

According to the Qatar Financial Center (QFC), QazAir Investments is registered in the capital city of Doha, with a registered capital of $1,000 and equity capital of $300,000. Its final beneficiary is Abraham Daniel Danino. The French register of commercial entities shows that a person with the same name was president of SAS Red Valley from 2020 to 2021. The register states that the core business activity of the firm was providing concierge services.

ATMA — Atyrau Airport and Transportation was established in 1993 as a Kazakhstani-Turkish joint venture. The company operates Atyrau International Airport, which was built in 1979. The facility supports passenger and cargo flights to Turkey, Egypt, Russia and the Netherlands.
