Kazakhstan and Macau introduce visa-free regime
Kazakhstan and Macau, a special administrative region of China, have signed an agreement introducing a visa-free regime. The document will enter into force once domestic procedures are done, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry noted.
«Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the PRC Shakhrat Nuryshev and Secretary for Administration and Justice of the Macau Special Administrative Region of China Cheong Wen Chon have signed an agreement on mutually lifting the visa requirement for 14 days. The document will enter into force once all domestic procedures are completed,» the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The agency believes the agreement will boost the development of bilateral cooperation in spheres such as trade, economy, culture and tourism.
Macau is a special administrative district in Southern China. It is often referred to as the “Las Vegas of the East” due to its abundance of giant casinos and shopping malls.
In November 2023, Kazakhstan signed another agreement with China, introducing a visa-free regime between the neighboring countries. As a result, Kazakhstanis can travel to China for private or business purposes, tourism, medical treatment, transit, etc. with no visa. However, this agreement doesn’t cover Hong Kong and Macau.
Currently, citizens of Kazakhstan can visit 34 countries without a visa.
