Kazakhstan expects its first Boeing Dreamliner to fly to New York by late 2025

The first Dreamliner for a direct route from Kazakhstan to the U.S. is expected to be supplied to Kazakhstan by the end of 2025. This deadline was announced during a meeting between Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev and representatives of Boeing.

According to the ministry’s press service, the purchase of the aircraft is aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s aircraft fleet and improving air travel in the country.

Boeing is the global leader in the sphere of aerospace technologies, producing aircraft for civil and defense purposes. With production facilities worldwide, Boeing reported $80 billion in revenue last year. The company’s Dreamliner was developed to replace the Boeing 767, which was first presented in 1978.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which is capable of conducting intercontinental flights, may serve the goals of Air Astana, which has long wanted to launch a regular flight to New York. The airline cannot do so with its current air fleet. In May 2023, President of Air Astana Peter Foster announced that the company will obtain two Dreamliners by the end of 2025 and one more in 2026. By the end of 2027, Air Astana will have 64 aircraft compared to 43 as of 2023, Foster noted.
