Air Astana resumes direct flights to London
Air Astana will install additional fuel tanks on its Airbus A321LR aircraft to make it possible to fly directly to London without refueling. This upgrade is expected to reduce the total time in the air by an hour and a half, the airline reported.
«Air Astana resumes nonstop flights from Almaty to London starting on Oct. 4. Since March 2022, the route has operated with a stop to refuel in Aktau,» the company said in a statement.
According to the airline, this flight will be possible after installing additional fuel tanks on the Airbus A321LR aircraft.
«The new modification will allow the direct flight, and the duration will be shortened by 1 hour and 30 minutes, making it 9 hours and 35 minutes,» Air Astana emphasized.
Earlier this month, Air Astana announced new direct flights from Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates. The airline plans to operate four weekly flights from Almaty and Astana to Abu Dhabi and two from Atyrau to Dubai. Even though air tickets are already on sale, the first flight to the UAE will take place on Oct. 30, 2024.
