The rule will enter into force on February 1
The minister of labor and social protection of the population of Kazakhstan has approved a new quota for foreign workers for 2022. The rule is aimed at tightening control over workforce intake from abroad.
The quota is linked to the percentage of the workforce. For example, the new rule allows local executive bodies in Kazakhstan to approve quotas at the rate of 0.31%. In turn, job providers will be able to hire not more than 3.2% foreign workers out of the entire number of employees.
The rule is entering into force on February 1, 2022.
As of December 2021, there were about 15,000 foreign workers who worked in Kazakhstan under a similar quota. This number is slightly less when compared to the October rate.
