Regulator reveals the five most profitable commercial banks in Kazakhstan

Halyk, Kaspi, Forte, Bank CenterCredit (BCC) and Jusan reported the highest net revenue in March, according to data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

Halyk Bank, the largest bank in Kazakhstan by assets, boosted its net revenue in March by $161.3 million to reach $481.6 million. Kaspi ranked second with a $83.6 million increase. Over the first three months of the year, its total revenue reached $249.8 million. Forte came in third with $46.7 million in March and $101.7 million for the first quarter.

BCC posted $45.9 million in net revenue for March, with a quarterly total of $152.8 million. Jusan rounded out the top five, reporting $33.3 million in March and $76.4 million in revenue over the first three months of 2025.

Overall, Kazakhstan’s banking sector saw a 47.9% jump in revenue in March compared to February, reaching $1.2 billion. Year-on-year, revenue rose by 16.5%.

In February, the top banks were nearly the same. Halyk again led the ranking with $320 million in revenue, followed by Kaspi ($166.2 million), BCC ($106.8 million), Forte ($54.9 million) and Otbasy Bank ($42.4 million).

As of April 1, Kazakhstan had 21 commercial banks with total assets of $120 billion and a loan portfolio of $71.3 billion. The share of non-performing loans stood at 3.36% ($2.3 billion). The sector also reported $102.5 billion in liabilities, including $47 billion in individual deposits and $34 billion in deposits from legal entities.
