FlyOne Asia, an Uzbek air carrier, plans to transform into a low-cost airline and begin flights to Central Asian countries by the end of 2025. This announcement was made by the company’s CEO Aziz Mukhamadaminov, in an interview with CentralAsia+ Aero.

FlyOne Asia was created in July 2025, when Uzbek Asia Union Airlines merged with the Moldovan aviation group FlyOne and was rebranded. (The company’s website still uses the old name.) As a result of the deal, the airline gained access to a common fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, unified service standards and centralized maintenance.

Now, FlyOne Asia plans to adopt a low-cost carrier model similar to FlyOne’s operations in Moldova and Armenia.

As Mukhamadaminov noted, Asia Union began flights in February 2025 on the Tashkent–Medina route. The company inherited this route and its first Airbus A320ceo aircraft from Panorama Airways, which had exited the market.

Where FlyOne Asia flies now

Currently, FlyOne Asia operates daily flights to Medina and also offers service to Saudi Arabia from Andijan, Namangan and Fergana.

In addition, the airline’s destinations include Dubai, Urumqi, Seoul, Hanoi, Bangkok, Jeddah, Antalya and Istanbul.

Future destinations

The company plans to launch new flights not only to Central Asian countries but also to the Caucasus, as well as to Turkey, Egypt and China.

In July, FlyOne Asia temporarily leased an A321ceo aircraft from Air Samarkand. By November, it expects to add two more aircraft to its fleet, expanding its route network.

Other low-cost airlines in Uzbekistan

Currently, Uzbekistan Airways Express — the budget subsidiary of the national carrier Uzbekistan Airways — operates in the country.

Last year, Humo Air attempted to launch a low-cost model but ceased operations after just three months due to problems with aircraft leasing.

In Kazakhstan, low-cost airline FlyArystan (a subsidiary of Air Astana) is already active. Vietjet Qazaqstan (formerly Qazaq Air) also positions itself as a regional budget carrier.
