Child abuse survivor asks Elon Musk to remove links to her exploitation images

A U.S. abuse survivor, known as Zora (not her real name), has asked Elon Musk to remove links on X that share images of her childhood abuse, the BBC reports.
A family member abused her more than 20 years ago. Although he went to prison, pictures of the abuse were copied and still spread online.
«My body is not a commodity. People who share this are part of the crime,» the abuse survivor told the BBC.
Activists, including the group Anonymous, claim to report these accounts, but new ones continue to appear.
X says it has «zero tolerance» for child abuse material and works with U.S. authorities. However, experts say that X and other platforms are not doing enough.
In 2024, tech companies sent over 20 million reports of child abuse images to the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The abuse survivor says stalkers discovered who she is and have harassed her. Telegram told the BBC it banned more than 565,000 groups linked to child abuse in 2025.
