FC Barcelona forward Lewandowski could end his career after this season

Polish forward Robert Lewandowski is set to finish his career after this season if he is unable to reach an agreement with FC Barcelona to extend his contract, Sport.es reported.
Lewandowski’s current contract with the Catalan club is valid until summer 2026. The FC Barcelona management is not in a hurry to extend it. However, the forward believes he is capable of playing for the team for at least one more season. Lewandowski is even ready to become a substitute forward with reduced playing time.
Previous reports indicated that Saudi Arabian clubs were ready to offer favorable terms. However, the Polish player does not intend to leave Spain. According to the media outlet, he and his family feel comfortable in Barcelona. Lewandowski’s priority is to stay in the city and, if possible, continue playing for Barcelona.
At the weekend, during the 12th matchday of La Liga, Lewandowski stood out with a hat-trick against Celta. With this performance, the Polish footballer surpassed Neymar in the club’s all-time top scorers list.
Lewandowski’s Career
Lewandowski joined FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022. As part of the Catalan team, he won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup twice (2023, 2025). He also won the Spanish Cup in 2025. In 12 matches this season for Barcelona, Lewandowski has scored seven goals.
He made his debut for the Poland national team in September 2008. Over 161 matches, Lewandowski scored 87 goals and provided 36 assists.
