Mikhail Shaidorov qualifies for 2025-26 ISU Grand Prix Final
Kazakhstani figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov has qualified for the 2025-26 ISU Grand Prix Final, which is set to take place in Japan from Dec. 4 to 7.
In the overall standings across the six Grand Prix events, Shaidorov finished fifth with 24 points. He placed third at the Grand Prix in China and second at the event in the U.S.
The standings are led by two-time champion Ilia Malinin of the U.S. and 2025 World bronze medalist Yuma Kagiyama of Japan, who both earned 30 points. It was Malinin who edged out Shaidorov in the battle for this year’s World Championship gold.

Context
The 2025-26 ISU Grand Prix Final will be held in Nagoya, Japan, from Dec. 4 to 7. A total of four sets of medals will be awarded: in men’s and women’s singles, pairs, and ice dance.
Malinin won last year’s Grand Prix Final, with Kagiyama and Sato finishing second and third, respectively. Shaidorov competed as a substitute for the injured Siao Him Fa and placed fifth.
Previously, Kazakhstani figure skater Sofia Samodelkina finished second at the fourth Grand Prix event in Japan.
