Apple unveiled a new iPhone in its 2026 affordable line — the iPhone 17e. Like its predecessor, the iPhone 16e, it features a 6.1-inch display, but adds more storage, MagSafe and satellite features.
The smartphone comes with an OLED display offering a resolution of 2,532×1,170 pixels and up to 1,200 nits of brightness. The refresh rate remains a standard 60 Hz. Performance is powered by the A19 chip — the same as in the regular iPhone 17 — providing more than enough power for daily tasks, social media, and gaming.
Minimum storage starts at 256 GB, with a 512 GB option available. The device also includes 8 GB of RAM, which is solid for the «affordable» segment.
The smartphone features a single 48-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. The front-facing selfie camera has a 12 MP resolution, suitable for video calls and selfies. Overall, Apple focuses less on the number of cameras and more on photo quality in everyday use.
The company did not specify the battery capacity, but it is expected to be around 4,000 mAh. The device supports 27 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging via MagSafe.
iPhone 17e supports 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and satellite connectivity, ensuring reliable connections even in challenging conditions. The body is more robust, yet the device remains light and compact, weighing 167 g and measuring 7.8 mm thick.
The price remains the same as the previous model — starting at $599 for the base 256 GB version. Preorders open on March 4, and the device is expected to hit shelves on March 11 in three colors: black, pink, and white.
Previously, Kursiv.media reported rumors that Apple may be testing unusual colors for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with the new flagship possibly featuring a bright red or burgundy body.
