Trump agrees to two-week ceasefire with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said he was ready to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks and move toward a bilateral ceasefire, he posted on Truth Social.
«I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!» the president noted.
Trump said the decision was due to the U.S. having already achieved its military objectives and being close to reaching a long-term peace agreement.
«We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate,» he added.
Trump emphasized that most of the disputed issues between the U.S. and Iran have already been resolved, while the two-week pause will allow the sides to complete the process and finalize the agreements.
«It is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution,» the president said.
The White House also stated that Israel agreed to a two-week ceasefire and will suspend strikes on Iran while negotiations are underway.
