President Erdogan visits Kazakhstan, hails country’s warm welcome

During Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan‘s state visit to Astana, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warmly welcomed the Turkish leader and thanked him for accepting the invitation. He emphasized that Erdogan’s visit is of exceptional significance for Kazakhstan and described it as a historic event.
Erdogan said the Turkish delegation was impressed by Kazakh Air Force jets escorting the presidential plane as it entered the country’s airspace.
«Your Excellency, Mr. President, my dear brother, I am very pleased to see you in the capital of Kazakhstan. Your current visit will give a powerful boost to cooperation between our two countries. Kazakhstan and Turkey are bound by strong fraternal ties and an enduring partnership,» Tokayev said, adding that there are no contradictions or disagreements between the two nations.
This week, Astana is hosting the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and a large-scale business forum is also taking place. In addition, an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Turkestan.
«You have arrived in Astana with a representative delegation. I am confident that your visit will be successful. Today, we are taking a major step toward a bright future for our cooperation,» Tokayev added.
In turn, Erdogan expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit what he described as the land of his ancestors. He noted that the Turkish delegation had received exceptional hospitality.
«The honor with which my delegation was welcomed, including the air force escort from the moment we crossed into Kazakhstan’s airspace, brought us great joy. We will certainly not forget this,» Erdogan said, expressing confidence that his visit would help strengthen ties between the two nations.
