In the updated WTA rankings published today, on May 18, Kazakhstani tennis player Anna Danilina climbed three places to reach fifth in doubles, whereas Elena Rybakina stayed second in singles.

Last week, at the WTA 1000 2026 Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Danilina, paired with American Asia Muhammad, reached the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by the Russian duo Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider, who later won the title.

Danilina is taking part in the WTA 500 2026 Internationaux de Strasbourg, paired with Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. She will be the only representative of Kazakhstan at the tournament, since Rybakina decided to take a rest ahead of Roland-Garros.

On the ATP side, Alexander Bublik moved up to 10th place in the singles rankings, climbing one spot and pushing Italian Lorenzo Musetti out of the top 10.

Last week, both of them played at the 2026 Internazionali BNL d’Italia, in which Musetti was more successful than Bublik. Nevertheless, Musetti failed to defend 300 ranking points from last year, dropping in the rankings and opening the way for Bublik to move into the Top 10.

This week, the Kazakh player is seeded second at the ATP 250 Geneva Open singles, while Musetti is focused on Roland-Garros.
