Russia has gifted Kazakhstan four Amur tigers, including two cubs, as part of efforts to help restore the tiger population in the Lake Balkhash region, Reuters reported.

According to an official Kremlin statement, the animals were captured in Russia’s far eastern Khabarovsk region and transported by air to Kazakhstan ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s three-day visit to the country this week.
