Aktobe students who built a portrait of renowned Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen from 3,000 LEGO bricks met their idol in person. As a sign of gratitude, the artist gifted the children vouchers to the Shugyla children’s camp.
Students of School No. 82 prepared an unusual project for International Children’s Day. Five fourth-grade students worked on a 1.5-by-2.5-meter portrait for nearly a week under the guidance of robotics club instructor Zhanaly Makat.
According to the instructor, the idea to dedicate the project to Dimash stemmed from the fact that he was born in Aktobe.
Before beginning the assembly, the students studied the artist’s biography, prepared a sketch of the future portrait and then got to work. Makat noted that the children were so enthusiastic about the project that they asked to continue working on it every day.
During a visit to his hometown, Dimash met with the creators of the portrait and, at the end of the meeting, presented each of the five project participants with a voucher for a 10-day stay at the Shugyla children’s camp.
During his trip to Aktobe, the artist also visited School-Gymnasium No. 32, where he studied, and the Akhmet Zhubanov Music College, from which he graduated with a degree in opera singing.
Previously, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Qudaibergen announced the release of a documentary about his creative career.
