A Chinese company, Yueban, has unveiled an unusual development: Xiaoban, a wheeled robot toilet. The device is designed to automatically approach a person when they need to use it, RoboHorizon reported.
The new product was showcased at the 2026 Shanghai International Elderly Care Expo. Developers said the device is designed for elderly people and those with reduced mobility. However, social media users joked that its real target audience could be remote workers and gamers.
Xiaoban is equipped with a warm-water bidet, a hot-air dryer and an odor-elimination system. After use, the robot travels to a station connected to plumbing and sewage systems.
There, the device disposes of waste, undergoes a full cleaning and sanitization cycle, replenishes clean water and recharges its battery. The robot uses LiDAR and laser sensors for navigation, similar to those used in modern robot vacuum cleaners.
In China, Xiaoban is priced at 28,999 yuan, roughly $4,300. International pricing and release dates have not been announced.
Developers said the robot is designed to help people maintain independence in daily life and reduce the burden on relatives and caregivers.
Previously, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that in China’s Xinjiang region, a robot performer kicked a child during a show at a tourist attraction.
