President Tokayev hails new era in Kazakhstan-China relations

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in China on a working visit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Speaking during a roundtable with representatives of leading Chinese companies, Tokayev thanked China’s leadership and described the strategic partnership between the two countries as comprehensive and enduring.

«Our bilateral ties have risen to an unprecedented level. Together, we have entered a new ‘golden thirty years’ of Kazakh-Chinese relations,» he stated.

According to Tokayev, the peoples of Kazakhstan and China are united by mutual trust, sincere friendship and a shared vision for the future. He added that cooperation between the two countries has reached a new level.

«I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to my dear friend, Mr. Xi Jinping, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, for his personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between our countries,» Tokayev said.

What is the purpose of Tokayev’s visit to China?

Tokayev arrived in Shanghai on a working visit at the invitation of Xi. During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold talks, while the Kazakh president will also meet executives from leading Chinese companies to discuss trade, investment and broader economic cooperation.
