A video showing popular streamer IShowSpeed meeting members of K-pop group BTS became the most-viewed Instagram Reel in history within its first 24 hours after being uploaded. It garnered 300 million views within a day. Kursiv LifeStyle explains what happened.
The meeting took place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. IShowSpeed performed during the closing ceremony before kick-off, while BTS performed during the halftime show.
During the second half, the streamer was told that the BTS members were in a corridor near his box. Upon hearing this, he immediately headed over to meet them.
During the meeting, IShowSpeed couldn’t hide his excitement. The streamer hugged the BTS members, shouted with excitement and then performed a backflip right in front of the South Korean stars. He then posed for a group photo with BTS.
The Reel quickly went viral and garnered 300 million views in its first 24 hours, setting a new Instagram record.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is one of the world’s most famous streamers, with more than 59 million YouTube subscribers. He is also known as a longtime fan of Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
