Chinese investor commits $5 million to Kazakhstan’s mining sector

Zhongjian Hengxin Mining, a new company with Chinese capital, has been registered at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). According to its profile, the company will engage in geological exploration, surveying and services supporting mineral extraction.
The company was founded by Chinese citizen Jian Zheng, who contributed $5 million in equity capital, a relatively large investment for a newly registered AIFC company.
Interestingly, the company’s registered address — 56 Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, Block B, Yesil District, Astana — is the same as that of several other Chinese companies operating in the mining sector.
Among them is Tianshan Resources, a subsidiary of China’s Zijin Mining Group, which acquired gold producer RG Gold from Kazakh billionaire Bulat Utemuratov in 2025. Through the acquisition, Zijin also gained control of the Raigorodok gold deposit in the Akmola region and currently plans to invest $600 million in its development.
Another company registered at the same address is Central Asia Jinyuan Mining. It also specializes in mineral exploration, and its shareholders are Chinese citizens. The company was registered with the AIFC on July 1.
