Kazakhstan’s forward Dastan Satpayev named in Chelsea squad for pre-season tour

Kazakhstan’s forward Dastan Satpayev has been included in Chelsea’s traveling squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and Asia. The London club named a 27-man traveling squad.
Satpayev is among the forwards alongside Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, João Pedro and Estêvão. The traveling squad also includes first-team players and several academy players. Other players may join the squad during the tour.
The pre-season tour will mark Satpayev’s first trip with the London club. In early July, the Kazakh forward began training at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground. Kairat Boranbayev, chairman of FC Kairat’s supervisory board, said the forward had arrived in England in good physical condition and was fully focused on the next stage of his career.
Chelsea’s first pre-season friendly is scheduled for July 28 against Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney. The team will then face Tottenham Hotspur on Aug. 1, Juventus on Aug. 5 in Hong Kong and AC Milan on Aug. 8 in Jakarta. The tour will conclude with a match against Malaysia’s Johor Darul Ta’zim on Aug. 9.
Satpayev’s transfer from FC Kairat to Chelsea was announced in February 2025. The deal, including bonuses, was estimated at €4.3 million. Before leaving for England, the forward made 58 appearances for the Almaty club, scoring 26 goals and providing 10 assists.
