Construction has begun on the QAZBOT complex in Astana. It is set to become Kazakhstan’s first facility for producing humanoid robots and developing artificial intelligence solutions. Investment in the first phase of the project alone is estimated at around $200 million, Atameken Business reported.
QAZBOT Technologies said the new Robotics and AI complex will bring together research, engineering and production, incorporating local content and the practical deployment of robotic technologies.
The complex will also house its own R&D center, where software and AI models will be developed, robotic systems tested and adapted and engineers trained.
AGIBOT is the project’s strategic technology partner. Representatives of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and the Astana Mayor’s Office also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
QAZBOT Technologies CEO Vladislav Safarov said the project is moving from the concept stage to the development of its own technology infrastructure.
«Our goal is to bring research, engineering expertise, production and the deployment of solutions together into a unified system in Kazakhstan. This will allow us not only to adapt advanced technologies, but also to develop our own solutions and train specialists,» Safarov said.
One of QAZBOT’s main areas of focus is expected to be deploying robotics and AI-based solutions directly into the economy.
Potential areas of application include manufacturing, logistics, finance, healthcare, education, social services and consumer services.
The project involves more than just robot assembly. A full technological cycle is planned at a single site, spanning research and software development through to production, testing and the subsequent deployment of solutions.
QAZBOT Technologies was founded by three legal entities: AVS ALLIANCE LLP, IT NOVATOR LLP and ISS EVERGREEN CAPITAL LTD.
