
Investment in fixed capital in Kazakhstan increased by 7.7% year-on-year to 11.46 trillion tenge (approx. $24.88 billion) in the first seven months of 2026. Investment in manufacturing and construction recorded particularly strong growth, rising by 36.1% and 26.8%, respectively, according to the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) weekly macroeconomic review.
An expansion in business lending supported investment growth. As of the end of July, the volume of business loans had increased by 17.1% year-on-year, while lending to small and medium-sized businesses grew by 29.6%.
Investment in agriculture also increased significantly, by 17.6% year-on-year.
Companies’ own funds remain the primary source of investment, accounting for 67.7% of total investment.
At the same time, companies are investing more heavily in equipment. Spending in this area increased by 29.8% year-on-year in the first seven months.
The EDB believes that investment will continue to support Kazakhstan’s economic activity in 2026.
