HBO has revealed a new teaser trailer for its «Harry Potter» series. The footage shows young Harry Potter arriving at Hogwarts for the first time, being sorted into a house and starting a new life at the school of wizardry. Kursiv LifeStyle takes a look at what’s shown in the new footage.
Dominic McLaughlin takes on the leading role. In the teaser, Potter is sorted into Gryffindor, where he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Together, they will not only learn magic but also uncover the mystery of the philosopher’s stone.
The teaser shows several familiar scenes. Potter flies on a broomstick and takes part in a Quidditch match. The teaser also features classes at Hogwarts, the Great Hall and the school’s teachers.
The cast includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Nick Frost as Hagrid and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
Alastair Stout takes on the role of Ron Weasley, while Arabella Stanton plays Hermione Granger. The young actors were selected following a large-scale casting search across the U.K. and Ireland.
The first season will be based on the novel «Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.» HBO is set to adapt all seven novels by J.K. Rowling.
The premiere is scheduled for Dec. 25. HBO has already renewed the series for a second season.
