Seven OPEC+ countries have agreed to maintain their September 2026 required oil production levels in October, according to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

The decision was made during a virtual meeting on Sept. 6 to review global oil market conditions and the outlook.

The seven participating countries are Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. They previously announced additional voluntary production adjustments in April and November 2023.

Kazakhstan’s production

Kazakhstan is not a member of OPEC but participates in the OPEC+ production agreement alongside the listed countries. In September, Kazakhstan increased oil production by 10,000 barrels per day from August, reaching 1.628 million barrels per day.

Within the group, the UAE held the third-largest production quota after Saudi Arabia and Russia. The UAE withdrew from OPEC and the broader OPEC+ alliance on May 1, ending nearly six decades of membership to pursue a sovereign energy strategy.

The seven countries also reaffirmed their collective commitment to achieving full conformity with the Declaration of Cooperation, the framework governing cooperation between OPEC and participating non-OPEC oil producers.

The countries will continue to meet monthly to review global oil market conditions. Their next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 4, 2026.
