Kazakhstan records 44 pensioners over 100 years old

Kazakhstan is home to 44 people over 100 years old who receive pensions. The oldest woman is 106, the Government for Citizens State Corporation reported ahead of the International Day of Older Persons.

A 106-year-old Kazakhstani woman lives in Shymkent, while the oldest man, a 104-year-old World War II veteran, lives in Almaty. He is also a scientist and professor with a doctorate in biological sciences.

More than 2.4 million people in Kazakhstan receive pensions, and 64% are women.

The Government for Citizens State Corporation released the data ahead of the International Day of Older Persons, observed on Oct. 1. In 2026, Kazakhstan is marking the occasion for the 35th time.

The state corporation thanked the older generation for their years of work and contribution to Kazakhstan’s development and wished them good health and longevity.
