SnowValley Food Kazakhstan Group Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of China’s major potato producer Snow Valley, was registered at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). Economist Arman Batayev, author of the Finmentor.kz Telegram channel, spotlighted the development. The company plans to build a $100 million-$200 million plant in Kazakhstan.

Batayev wrote that SnowValley Food Kazakhstan Group Holdings Ltd. was registered on Sept. 30 with an authorized capital of $18 million. The company is a holding entity and can also process and preserve potatoes.

Its shareholder is Xuechuan Liupanshan Food (Ningxia) Co. Ltd., a production unit of China’s Snow Valley. In April, the company signed a memorandum with the Pavlodar region administration on plans to build a potato deep-processing complex with an annual capacity of 100,000 to 200,000 tons. The plant is also expected to produce French fries, with the project estimated to cost $100 million-$200 million.

Snow Valley Agricultural Group Co. Ltd. is a Chinese agricultural holding company founded in 2007 in Zhangjiakou. Its operations include processing facilities, virus-free seed potato production bases and an extensive logistics network. The company processes more than 800,000 tons of raw materials annually.
