King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, who have arrived in Astana for a three-day state visit, shared pictures from Kazakhstan. Kursiv LifeStyle takes a look at the royal couple’s visit and the outfit the Queen chose for the trip.
The Belgian royal family has shared the pictures on its official Instagram account. Among the first photos released is Baiterek, one of the major architectural landmarks of Kazakhstan’s capital city.

«Inspired by an ancient nomadic legend, this emblematic monument reflects both Kazakhstan’s rich traditions and its vision for the future,» the monarchs wrote in their description of Baiterek.
Queen Mathilde’s outfit drew particular attention. For one appearance, she chose a scarlet ensemble — reflecting the best royal traditions — and accessorized it with a hat of the same color.

Together with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who kept the monarchs company, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde also visited a children’s rehabilitation center in Astana. The facility specializes in dealing with complex neuropsychiatric conditions and musculoskeletal disorders.

The guests spoke with young patients, their parents and medical staff.

This was the fourth time King Philippe had been to Kazakhstan. He had visited the country three times as crown prince. This trip, however, marks his first state visit to Kazakhstan since ascending the Belgian throne in 2013.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are visiting Astana from Oct. 11 to 14. The itinerary includes talks with Tokayev, a meeting of the Kazakhstan-Belgium Business Council and a forum for university rectors from both countries.
