Eurasian Fashion Week will take place in Almaty, showcasing spring-summer collections. Kursiv LifeStyle looks at the event’s special guests.
Fashion shows are scheduled for Oct. 22-23 at The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty. According to the organizers, the theme of the new EFW season is «SYNERGY,» reflecting how the interaction of different cultures and generations can give rise to something entirely new.
Alongside Kazakhstani designers, including Tamyr Fashion House, Zhuman and Nurasem, the event will feature collections by finalists in the Zhas-Orken competition, as well as special guests from Europe and Asia.
Polish fashion brand Hector & Karger, which has presented its collections at London Fashion Week and Fashion Week Poland, will participate in the event. Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey are among the celebrities who have worn the brand’s designs.
South Korean designer Ju Han Kim will present a collection by his brand, DAILY MIRROR, featuring delicate feminine silhouettes contrasted with bold masculine details, such as broad shoulders. The brand has showcased its work at Milan Fashion Week and is a regular participant in Seoul Fashion Week.
Giovanni Ottonello, art director of the European Institute of Design (IED), will be a special guest at the event, speaking about the development of commercial fashion products.
