The second season of the anime series «Cyberpunk: Edgerunners» has premiered on Netflix, with all 10 episodes now available to stream. Kursiv LifeStyle looks at the main characters and Hideo Kojima‘s role in the new season.
Japanese studio TRIGGER, which produced the first season in 2022, returned to work on «Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.» Screenwriter Bartosz Sztybor returned as the showrunner, while Kai Ikarashi, known for his work on the anime series «Little Witch Academia,» took on the role of director.
The story moves away from David Martinez and his crew, focusing on new characters while keeping familiar details and Easter eggs for franchise fans.
The main characters in «Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2» include veteran mercenary Weak Kingsley, known as «King“; D, a netrunner from the nomadic Snake Nation; Roman Carax, an old movie enthusiast; and Talia Yang, a member of high society with a particular taste for chrome and violence.
Famed game designer Hideo Kojima joins the voice cast as Hideyoshi Oshima, a braindance producer. In the “Cyberpunk» universe, braindance is a technology that allows people to record and relive another person’s experiences, sensations and emotions.

Early reviews suggest that the series still impresses with its visuals but falls short of the first installment in terms of drama and the scale of its story.
