Zelenskyy floats the possibility of online elections

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that authorities could explore the possibility of holding elections online. However, the parliament would have to come up with an appropriate solution, TCH reported, citing the president’s interview with German channel ZDF.
Zelenskyy said ensuring that military personnel on the front lines have an opportunity to vote is one of the key issues.
«Military personnel are at the front, and they are also opposed to elections because they have no opportunity to vote. Isn’t this unfair? Millions of people are in trenches, and it is technically impossible to organize,» he said.
The president named online voting as a possible alternative. However, he stressed that this option would require a decision by parliament.
«This is possible, but then parliament will have to seek and find a solution,» Zelenskyy said.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Zelenskyy and said that Ukraine should elect a new leader capable of striking deals.
Separately, Trump stated that the Russia-Ukraine war was close to being settled, while the upcoming agreement could affect all of Europe.
