Nicolas Cage, who played Johnny Blaze in two live-action Marvel films, has voiced his support for Ryan Gosling taking on the role and expressed interest in the upcoming adaptation. Kursiv LifeStyle takes a closer look.

Cage noted that Gosling could bring his own vision to the character. The two actors know each other and keep in touch, and Cage has already wished his fellow actor good luck.

«Ryan’s going to do his thing with it and I’m looking forward to seeing it. Ryan knows how I feel about him as an actor; we’ve had nice conversations and we stay in touch,» Cage told The Hollywood Reporter.

Cage first played Ghost Rider in 2007. His character, motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze, made a deal with the Devil and transformed into a demon hunter whose head turns into a flaming skull. In 2012, Cage reprised the role in the sequel, «Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.»

Gosling, meanwhile, seems well suited to the role. He has already played a tough motorcycle stuntman in the drama «The Place Beyond the Pines.» His character, Luke Glanton, is a stunt performer who robs banks while riding a motorcycle. The role earned Gosling a Satellite Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. So riding a motorcycle and cutting an imposing figure are nothing new to Gosling.

Kursiv LifeStyle reported over the summer that Gosling would take on the role of the demonic motorcyclist. At the time, it was also revealed that Shawn Levy, director of «Deadpool & Wolverine,» would helm the film. Jonathan Tropper writes the screenplay. He is also working with Levy and Gosling on the upcoming «Star Wars: Starfighter.»
