Kazakhstan Sends Masks and Ventilators to Kyrgyzstan

According to the Kazakhstani Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, humanitarian aid that was already delivered to Bishkek is aimed to support Kyrgyzstan in its fight against COVID-19. 

The dispatched cargo included 400 sets of Kokchetav-4P mobile lung ventilators manufactured by Kazakhstani Tynys company, as well as two million face masks produced by Almaty-based plant Dolce pharm and Zhambyl company Mega pharm. 

The total cost of humanitarian aid is 400 million tenge. The cargo was sent by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan under President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s order. In Kyrgyzstan, masks and ventilators were received by the officials of the local health system.

Earlier, on November 13, the interim president of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, who also works as prime minister of the country, had a phone conversation with the president of Kazakhstan. According to official information released by Akorda (the official residence of the Kazakhstani president), both sides expressed their deep adherence to friendship and good neighborhoods and discussed some bilateral cooperation issues.

Later, on November 17, the press service of Kazakhstan’s government said that the neighboring country officially requested support.

Over the past 20 years, Kazakhstan has spent about $500 million for official assistance to other countries.
