The country is going to expand its territory covered by 5G networks, Interfax Kazakhstan news agency reported citing Askar Mamin.
«Over five years all regional centers, as well as Nur-Sultan, Almaty, and Shymkent will have been covered by 5G. We are going to invest much more money into data processing and e-commerce. We will also continue to support the digital industry to make it possible for thousands of IT companies to be established,» said Mamin while speaking at the Digital Almaty 2021 international forum.
According to the prime minister, the IT industry in Kazakhstan may create about 100,000 new jobs. As a result, the critical mass that would emerge will act as a trigger for multiplicative effects in various industries.
«We are aimed to facilitate digitalization in every facet of public life in Kazakhstan. Even now, we work on the integration of big data into the work of state bodies. This concept is called Data-Driven Government, which as expected may significantly improve state services at any stage: starting from development to efficacy control,» he said.
According to Mamin, a new approach to an integrated system of data collection and analysis is an important step toward a completely new stage – the dominance of artificial intelligence. Once everything is ready, the government will start to introduce AI into the economy and public services.
As expected, mobile operators are set to change 4G with 5G this year. It is expected that both networks will work interchangeably throughout the entire country.
