Kazakhstanis Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev have made it to the final of the 2021 French Open Men’s Doubles.
In the semi-final game with the Spanish tennis team of Pablo Andujar / Pedro Martinez Portero, the Kazakhstani players lost their first set with a score of 1:6. However, they pulled themselves together and won the next two sets with a score of 6:4 each.
In the final game, Bublik and Golubev will play with a duet of Herbert / Mahun from France, who outplayed tennis players from Columbia Cabal / Farah on Thursday.
Winners of the Roland Garros men’s doubles will get a prize of $244,295 while the total prize fund of the tournament is about $34.3 million.
For Kazakhstani tennis players, the victory in the Roland Garros semi-final is a grandiose success because this the first time a team from Kazakhstan was able to make it to the final in men’s or women’s doubles.
In March Alexander Bublik, who used to hold the 43rd position of the global tennis rating, has risen to the 9th position of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) thanks to successful series in Antalya and Singapore.
