During the bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his hope for direct air travel between Astana and Prague that may emerge.

«We welcome investments from the Czech Republic in various sectors of our economy including energy, machine building, transportation, agriculture, finance, health and pharmacy,» Tokayev highlighted.

He has also said that the government of Kazakhstan is ready to offer its comprehensive support to Czech investors.

In turn, Petr Fiala believes that this meeting will boost the development of bilateral relations.

«The cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic is one of the key pillars of the E.U.-Central Asia relations,» he said.

On April 24, the Kazakh-Czech business summit started in Astana. The event is aimed at the further development of bilateral relations and getting Czech investors familiar with Kazakhstan’s potential from an investment point of view.

Fiala has been prime minister of the Czech Republic since November 2021. During the elections, he promised to find solutions for all those old problems the country has been facing such as inflation and the energy crisis.
