According to the Sarbaz media outlet, the Kazakhstani army is testing Turkish Anka combat drones. If the tests in the Jambyl region are successful, the Defense Ministry will add these vehicles to the armed forces armory.

What happened? Military specialists at the Center for Combat Training and Combat Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Taraz are testing the new Anka combat drones from Turkey.

Air staff and maintenance personnel of military unit No. 14157 and representatives of Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc, an aerospace and defense company that designed Anka, have also taken part in the tests.

The Turkish side organized training for Kazakhstani pilots, maintenance personnel and payload operators. Kazakhstani specialists have rigorously checked the technical condition of Anka drones.

«Test flights are one of the product acceptance process stages. We have to check all the systems and equipment of the drones. The actual test flights by the army are scheduled for August 2023 and will last until March 2024,» Shokhan Musabekov, head of the training center said.

Technical specifications of the drone:

–       Anka can take off and land on different types of airfields;

–       The drone can carry a payload of up to 300 kilograms;

–       It is equipped with an anti-ice system for winter flights.

The interesting fact. In 2020, Turkey used Anka drones in Syria. One of them was shot down by the Syrians, which was filmed by witnesses. Later, the Al Ekhbariya TV channel showed this video to the public.
