According to the press service of the president of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam have signed a visa-free regime agreement. As of now, Kazakhstani citizens will be able to stay in Vietnam for 30 days visa-free.
What happened? President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is now in Vietnam on an official visit. During the meeting representatives of the two countries signed a visa-free regime agreement.
What is the agreement about? From here on out Kazakhstani citizens can enter, leave and stay in Vietnam visa-free. The passport of such a citizen should be valid for not less than six months. Similar rules will be applied to citizens of Vietnam in Kazakhstan.
How long can Kazakhstanis stay visa-free in Vietnam? The duration of stay shouldn’t be longer than 30 calendar days from the moment of border crossing or 90 days within every 180 days.
If a Kazakhstani citizen wants to stay in Vietnam longer than 30 days, he should apply for a visa.
What other agreements have Kazakhstan and Vietnam signed? The two countries have signed 12 documents, including the following:
– A memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of tourism;
– A memorandum on cooperation between the Center for Trade Policy QazTrade and the Vietnam Agency for Promoting Trade VietTrade;
– A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the sphere of investments in oil and gas projects between KazMunayGas and Sovico Group;
– A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the sphere of development of transportation and logistics infrastructure between Kazakhstan Railways and Sovico Group, and other similar agreements.
On August 4, Kazakhstan and China approved the agreement of a visa-free regime. According to this document, Kazakhstani citizens will be able to stay visa-free in China for 30 days from the moment of border crossing. The same rule will be applied to Chinese citizens in Kazakhstan. Within a 180-day period, people will be allowed to stay in either country for 90 days.
Kazakhstan and Seychelles are also planning to sign a visa-free regime agreement.
