Kazakhstan has expressed «deep concerns» about the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has already led to many casualties among civilians and called on the parties to de-escalate and begin political dialog, according to Aibek Smadiarov, official spokesperson of the country’s foreign ministry.

What did Smadiarov say? The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Kazakhstan is concerned about the situation in the Middle East and urged the parties of the conflict to seek a peaceful solution to the problem.

«Kazakhstan expresses deep concern over the serious aggravation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has already caused numerous casualties among civilians. We urge both sides to seek political tools to resolve the situation peacefully and not to resort to actions that could lead to further escalation of the situation not only between the two states but also in the Middle East as a whole,» Smadiarov said.

According to the Foreign Ministry, there are about 400 Kazakhstanis in Israel, 118 of whom expressed a desire to return home. As the official added, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Israel is working on the organization of their evacuation, which is scheduled for October 10.

In addition, there are about 25 families with Kazakhstani passports who are still staying in the Gaza Strip, where hostilities continue between militants from Hamas and Israel’s military forces. Smadiyarov called on all Kazakhstanis in Israel to follow the instructions of local authorities and stay in safe places.

On October 7, a new wave of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began. By now, this is the bloodiest clash over the past few years. According to the UN, more than 1,100 people were killed in two days of fighting. Both sides exchanged missile strikes on each other’s territory and are currently fighting on the ground.
