Kyrgyz foreign ministry warns the country’s citizens against traveling to Russia
The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan has recommended the country’s citizens avoid visiting the Russian Federation. This warning comes out against the backdrop of media reports about Russian authorities refusing to allow many Kyrgyz citizens to enter the country.
«The ministry is once again recommending its fellow citizens to temporarily abstain from vising Russia if there is no urgency until all additional security measures and increased border control are lifted,» the agency said in a statement.
The MFA, however, noted that neither the ministry nor its consulates haven’t received information about Russia not allowing Kyrgyzstani citizens to enter the country on a large scale.
In late April, the media reported that thousands of citizens of Tajikistan found themselves stranded in Moscow airports. The country’s MFA said that the situation was quite rough as Russian authorities didn’t provide people with hot meals and deported 27 of them to Tajikistan.
Tajikistan also recommended its citizens to abstain from visiting Russia by any form of transportation for no good reason literally a day before that situation.
According to Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian MFA, the country has strengthened its border control and examines all people crossing the border regardless of their nationality. These measures have been introduced after the attack on Crocus City Hall as the terrorist threat is still in place, Russian law enforcement officials said. On March 22, a group of terrorists attacked Crocus City Hall, a concert venue near Moscow. Heavily armed men started shooting concertgoers and set the building on fire. As a result of the attack, 143 people have died.
