Freedom Holding Corp. is set to cooperate with British Vodafone, one of the largest mobile operators in the world. This news was revealed by Timur Turlov, CEO of the holding, during the presentation of the company’s results for the 2024 fiscal year.
«We have signed a contract with Vodafone. They are assisting us in network development. We are utilizing all their technologies to build a new fixed and virtual mobile operator in Kazakhstan, with the potential to become a full-fledged operator in the future. We’re going to rely on their brand and all their suppliers to implement our strategy,» Turlov said.
He also highlighted that it wasn’t easy to persuade Vodafone to allow the use of its brand in Kazakhstan, and the holding is very proud of this achievement.
«There was a King’s Birthday Party at the U.K. Embassy last Tuesday where the U.K. Ambassador to Kazakhstan announced our strategic partnership. We’re proud that we are doing this together with Vodafone,» the CEO of Freedom Holding Corp. stated.
Freedom Telecom was launched in late 2023. The company is currently implementing two projects: the construction of the national information highway to connect the eastern and western parts of the country and the construction of two data processing centers. Once the $230-million projects are completed, they will ensure an alternative route for international data transit and will attract BigTech companies such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft.
