Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, has announced that Kazakhstan has received a grant from China to develop its space industry. The two countries also signed a cooperation agreement in the space industry on the first day of the SCO summit.
As the minister wrote on a social network, Kazakhstan has received a 100-million-yuan grant to further develope its space industry. The funds are expected to be allocated according to specific goals outlined in a memorandum of understanding signed by both parties.
Madiyev also noted that several projects are under consideration. For instance, authorized agencies of China and Kazakhstan aim to collaborate in computational astronomy, astrophysics modeling and scientific and technical infrastructure, as well as sharing experiences and providing education and training in China.
The digital minister highlighted that the two countries have agreed to cooperate in establishing and operating an international scientific station on the Moon. Kazakhstani specialists will gain valuable experience in outer space research. Additionally, Kazakhstani companies Galam and the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute plan to develop a circumlunar telescope.
«We are confident that the outcomes of this research will contribute to the professional growth of our young specialists in mathematical modeling, engineering analysis, precision mechanics, materials engineering, astrophysics and space instrumentation technologies,» Madiyev wrote.
The ministry also plans to raise funds and collaborate closely with Chinese Deep Blue Industry Co., LTD and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. During the ongoing SCO summit in Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of China Xi Jinping signed 31 agreements related to bilateral trade, international shipping, studying the Chinese language and developing a digital currency.
