The Kazakhstani passport has been ranked 64th in the authoritative international ranking of passports by Henley & Partners, making it the strongest passport in Central Asia.
Henley & Partners is a British investment migration consultancy based in London. Its passport index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – the largest and most accurate travel information database – and includes 199 passports and 227 tourist destinations.
The leader of the 2024 ranking is Singapore, with 195 visa-free destinations. Five countries – France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain – share the second position (192 destinations), while Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and South Korea are in third place.
The Kazakhstani passport was ranked 64th, together with Eswatini, a country in Southern Africa (77 destinations).
Kazakhstan’s Central Asian neighbors – Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan – have taken the 76th, 78th, 83rd and 89th positions, respectively.
Russia was placed in the 45th position along with Turkey (116 destinations), Belarus in the 61st position (81 destinations) and Ukraine in the 30th position with 148 destinations requiring no visa for people with this passport. The Afghan passport has been recognized as the “weakest” (26 destinations).
Kazakhstan’s position in the ranking has improved by two notches compared to last year.
