Kazakhstan is set to open an IT park in Tajikistan with financial aid provided by Freedom Bank, the company’s press service reported. The Ministry of Digital Development of Kazakhstan, Freedom Bank, the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies, and the Amonatbonk Savings Bank of Tajikistan signed the relevant Memorandum.

The parties agreed to develop digital infrastructure and initiatives related to electronic government, as well as promote an exchange of knowledge. Moreover, the Memorandum includes the establishment of a technological park aimed at supporting startups and developing digital ecosystems.

«The launch of the technological park in Tajikistan is a crucial step in regional cooperation, development and support for innovation. Thanks to Freedom Bank funding, this project opens new horizons for technological entrepreneurship and the creation of modern IT solutions. This is a good example of how international cooperation can contribute to the development of the digital economy and strengthen our relationships,» emphasized Zhaslan Madiyev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The minister noted that over 100 IT specialists from Tajikistan have already completed the training under the Astana Hub course in Kazakhstan. The agency aims to enhance cooperation in the automation of banking products. Products like Digital Mortgage, Digital Vehicle and other digitalized services powered by government services (GovTech) were presented.

«Alongside the IT hub, we are also set to establish the Freedom Bank subsidiary in Tajikistan. We have already done a lot; the team is assembled, and the location is selected. The launch of a subsidiary will allow us to scale our experience and introduce digital financial products and services in Tajikistan’s market,» summarized Aidos Zhumagulov, a board member of Freedom Bank.

The document also suggests that the parties will participate in international events to draw more attention to the innovative ecosystem of Central Asia. This fits with the plans for exploring opportunities for cross-border partnerships and developing joint projects in space activities and Earth remote sensing.
