The U.S. Department of Commerce has imposed sanctions on two subsidiaries of the Turkish company called All Global Trading Elektronik Dis Ticaret Ltd Sti registered in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The corresponding edict is scheduled for publication on Aug. 27, 2024, according to the Federal Register.
There are 123 businesses on the U.S. sanction list that includes entities undermining national security or foreign policy interests as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
Alongside the Turkish company’s subsidiaries in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, U.S. sanctions were also imposed on 64 Russian, 42 Chinese, 8 Turkish and 11 Iranian companies, plus one entity each from Canada, Cyprus, Ukraine and the UAE.
According to open sources, All Global Trading Elektronik Dis Ticaret Ltd Sti, headquartered in Istanbul, is engaged in the wholesale of electrical devices and equipment, wiring supplies and related equipment.
In July, the U.S. government decided to introduce secondary sanctions against the entities and banks cooperating with VTB Kazakhstan.
In late June, Kazakhstani DA GROUP 22 was added to the EU’s 14th package of sanctions for its assistance to the Russian war machine. In general, the list includes 61 entities from Kyrgyzstan, China, Turkey and the UAE among some other countries. Prior to this, the EU and the U.S. had also announced plans to impose secondary sanctions on Kazakhstani Elem Group.
The Ministry of Trade and Integration later informed Kursiv.media that the companies in question had not been involved in import or export operations since May and June 2023, respectively. Moreover, Elem Group was in a state of dissolution.
