Jianlong, a Chinese metallurgical company from the Fortune Global 500, intends to build a steel factory in Kazakhstan. The company sees significant potential in Kazakhstan’s heavy industry and hopes to expand its capabilities by opening a new site in the country. Jianlong’s current total steel production capacity is 42 million tons. However, no details about the possible location of the new site have been provided.

With 14 metallurgical plants in China and other countries, Jianlong is one of China’s leading steel producers. In addition to steel production, Jianlong is also involved in logistics, trade and the production of vanadium and titanium.

During the negotiations, the Chair of Kazakh Invest, Azamat Kozhanov, informed the Chinese investors of the Kazakhstani government’s efforts to support businesses and improve the country’s investment climate.

«We are introducing a new approach to attracting investments. It aims to identify the most promising industries in Kazakhstan and steel production is one of them. We are going to invite investors who have specific offers tailored to these industries. To facilitate this work, we’re ready to provide any necessary assistance in identifying promising steel projects and supporting the further processing of steel products,» he said.

Both sides have agreed to continue their collaboration in steel production. Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group is a Chinese private industrial conglomerate and one of the largest steel producers in the world. The company was established in 1986 and is headquartered in Beijing.
